The Back In Action workout produces the best results when its completed every other day with the stretching routine completed daily. The back and the abs need to be worked together. The back and the abs stabilize the core as a single unit, sharing the amount of stabilization depending on the movement and position of the body hence the core should be trained this way.
If your back or abs are sore (healing/adapting) from the previous workout then an extra day between workouts is okay. You do not want to interfere with the healing or adapting process of the muscles in those areas, this will allow you to reap the benefits of the workout and become stronger.
To sum it up stretch everyday and complete the workout every 1-2 days depending on your specific recovery needs. Listen to your body. Be sure to maintain good form when doing the exercises. Go for smooth controlled movements really feel the muscles stretching and contracting during each rep. The amount of repetitions is secondary to the quality of your repetitions. Practice high quality reps striving to get the most from each rep, let the volume of the reps fall where they may and then build from there.
